Getting Started
Your ZAPT machine arrives fully configured. It plugs into a standard UK wall socket, sits on a counter or shelf, and starts taking rentals straight away. There's no engineer visit, no software to install, and no staff training to organise.
Most venues are live within minutes of opening the box. The only thing you decide is where to put it: somewhere visible, near a power outlet, ideally in line of sight of the bar or front desk.
Setup: Plug it in. That's the whole process. No configuration, no registration, no extra steps.
Trial Period
All new partnerships begin with a 1-month trial. That gives both sides time to see how rental activity plays out at your venue and decide whether to continue.
If the numbers look healthy, the trial rolls into the standard partnership without any extra paperwork on your side. If it isn't working, you hand the machine back at no cost and walk away.
Important: Please keep the original packaging during the trial. If the partnership doesn't continue, you can return the machine in the same box. After the trial period we'll ship a return box or arrange a courier collection.

Returns & Refunds
Returning a power bank is simple, and refunds are processed instantly.
- Insert the power bank into any available slot on any ZAPT machine
- Refund is processed automatically (deposit minus rental fee)
- Funds appear in the customer's account within 2 minutes
24-Hour Limit: Power banks must be returned within 24 hours. If not, the £15 deposit is retained and an additional £10 non-return fee is charged to cover the cost of the equipment. The customer keeps the unit.
Non-Returns & Purchases
If a customer chooses to keep the power bank, or fails to return it within 24 hours:
- The £15 holding deposit is retained
- An additional £10 non-return fee is charged to cover the cost of the equipment
- The customer keeps the power bank permanently
- We replace the unit in your machine at no cost to your venue
Automatic Replenishment
We track every station's stock through our system in real time. The moment a machine drops to 50% capacity, a replenishment shipment is triggered automatically and dispatched for next-day delivery to the venue address you provided.
As soon as it leaves the warehouse, you'll get an email with the tracking number so you know exactly when to expect it. When the box arrives, the new units slot straight into the machine.
How it works: At 50% capacity, a replenishment ships out for next-day delivery and a tracking email lands in your inbox. Nothing for you to action.
Handling Faulty Power Banks
Lithium power banks occasionally drop into sleep mode after sitting unused, which can read as "broken" when nothing's actually wrong. Most reports of a faulty unit fall into this category and clear up in seconds.
If your staff get asked, the troubleshooting flow is short. For anything past that, send the customer to ZAPT support and we'll take it from there.
Quick troubleshooting: If a customer reports a power bank isn't working, first check that it's powered on. Press the button on the side of the unit. Power banks that haven't been rented recently may need to be manually activated.
2-minute grace period: If a power bank turns out to be faulty straight after rental, the customer has 2 minutes from dispense to return it for a full refund. No charge, no questions.
For anything past that window, send the customer to ZAPT support and we'll refund the rental fee straight away.
Venue Liability & Loss Protection
Your venue carries zero financial risk for the station or the power banks inside it. ZAPT owns the equipment and absorbs the cost of any loss, damage, or theft.
- Venues are not liable for the station, the power banks, or any unit that goes missing from your premises.
- Every rental is secured by a £15 deposit taken at the point of dispense. If a power bank isn't returned within 24 hours, the deposit is retained, covering the cost of the unit.
- Card-linked rentals deter theft. No power bank can leave the station without a successful card authorisation, making anonymous theft effectively impossible.
- Damaged or lost units are replaced free of charge. Replacement stock arrives as part of automatic replenishment. Your venue is never invoiced for stolen or damaged power banks.
In short: ZAPT bears all risk for the hardware. Your only responsibility is keeping the station plugged in.
